Lake Hollywood Master Suite and Bathroom Renovation
HBS Designs transformed the 800 square foot master suite of this multi-million dollar Lake Hollywood home, creating a stunning, modern sanctuary featuring the latest amenities and conveniences.
To start, we developed a new floor plan and layout accentuating the views of the hills, and devised a softer, unified color palette using a mixture of neutral colors in place of the existing yellow, ivory, green and brown.
In the shower, we seamlessly book matched silver travertine for the wall & bench seat and incorporated honed 1×2 brick mosaic shower floor tiles with an invisible zero drain. A remote controlled Velux retractable skylight was installed to bring in more natural light and fresh air, and used 12 x 24 gray Portugal matte tiles for the bathroom floor that blends perfectly with the new carpeting in the closet and hardwood flooring in the bedroom.
For the new bath, we utilized an oval Aquabrass Turks bathtub in a stone resin with a high-glossy white finish and positioned it to take advantage of the views of the hills. Above the tub we installed WAC LED 3 Mini spot dimmable lights for late night soaking, and used a deck mounted, single-lever Dornbracht cascade spout to complete the ultimate immersive experience.
HBS custom built floating vanities for the his and her Duravit vessel sinks and fabricated Alaska white Caesar stone countertops with a six inch reveal to create one continuous piece of stone. The Duravit mirrors above the sinks feature indirect, non-glare LED lights, and LED square lights were strategically placed throughout the bathroom ceiling.
In the master bedroom, we removed the weathered beige carpeting, leveled the concrete sub floor and installed New Provenza Siberian Oak Castle Gray engineered hardwood flooring. The ceiling was painted with Dunn Edwards eggshell pure white, the walls with Farrow & Ball estate emulsion Cornforth White, the closet with custom made Gucci Gray, and the trim was painted with pure white semi gloss lacquer. The walk-in closet was completely redone with new lighting, plush Nickel gray color carpeting and new custom-cabinetry and hardware.
For the final touches in the master bedroom we installed LED lighting with square trim, remote control motorized Hunter Douglas black out window treatments and re-located and rewired the room’s audio/visual system.
We also incorporated energy-efficient LED recessed lights with square-trims throughout the house as well as adding Farrow and Ball paint & wall paper, carpet, and door hardware in other areas to create continuity throughout the home, producing a whole new feel and look that transformed this home.
